  • Engaging Your Absent/Silent/Invisible Students  |  Space is limited! RSVP to jmichael@academyart.edu
Do you have students who mostly "lurk" in your online class, participating only minimally—if at all? How about students who don't post at all in the discussion until a few minutes before the module closes? Join Jenny Michael and Molly Flanagan to learn about practical strategies for getting your students more involved in your weekly discussions.

Tuesday, 9/24, 10:00 - 11:30 a.m.
Wednesday, 9/25, 2:00 - 3:30 p.m.

  • Teaching How to Learn  |  Space is limited!  RSVP to jmichael@academyart.edu
High performing students have created, consciously or unconsciously, strategies for success. Beyond the requisite skills and information of a given discipline, they are aware of how they are learning and thinking, and they are self-regulating about how they approach any process. This higher awareness and self-regulating behavior is called metacognition—and it can be taught! Join Scot Crisp for this workshop on helping students (and you) develop metacognitive skills.

Tuesday, 10/15, 2:00 - 3:30 p.m.
Wednesday, 10/16, 9:00 - 10:30 a.m.

  • Helping Students Conquer Procrastination  |  Space is limited!  RSVP to jmichael@academyart.edu
Join Kevin Koczela in exploring students' attitudes and behaviors that lead to chronic procrastination in class. We will review early warning signs that a student is likely to turn work in late. We will also discuss strategies psychologists recommend for counseling and managing students who habitually put work off to the last minute.

Wednesday, 10/30, 3:00 - 4:30 p.m.
Thursday, 10/31, 9:00 - 10:30 a.m.

Zoom Training for Onsite Instructors

  • One-on-one Training and Assistance available on request.

For the last several weeks, Faculty Evaluation and Coaching has been offering daily workshops to help you transition to Zoom technology. At this time, we've seen a large drop in attendance as instructors have become more confident and proficient teaching classes using Zoom. With these things in mind, starting this Thursday, 4/16, the workshops will be discontinued and instead individualized Zoom support will be available exclusively.

To contact us, please email Faculty Evaluation and Coaching and one of our staff will get back to you quickly during business hours: facultyevalcoach@academyart.edu
